Joliet Man, 30, Out Damaging Other Person's Property Lands In Jail After Latest Arrest: Prosecutors

JOLIET, IL — A 30-year-old Joliet man found himself lodged inside the Will County Jail for two days last week in connection with allegations that he was out in the community intentionally damaging another man's property.

According to the criminal complaint against Robert Woycheese, he is charged with two counts of criminal damage to property. Joliet police made his arrest and oversaw the investigation.

Back on July 13, Woycheese "knowingly damaged any property, namely an air conditioner and connecting lines, of another ... and the damage to property exceeded $500 but did not exceed $10,000," the complaint reads.

As for the second crime, that one happened three days earlier, according to court files. The victim turned out to be the same man again.

On July 10, "said defendant knowingly damaged any property, namely door windows, of another, against the peace and dignity of the same of the People of the State of Illinois," the complaint read.

Woycheese spent Aug. 6-7 in the Will County Jail before regaining his freedom. He was also incarcerated there in 2014 and 2018.
