According to the prosecution's successful pretrial detention petition, one week ago, on Oct. 14, Joliet police officers responded to the 400 block of West Washington Street and saw first responders in the back of an ambulance with Michael Quinn, the defendant.

Officers patted the defendant down and he became agitated, prosecutors outlined.

"Defendant then began fighting officers. Defendant fell backwards and officers delivered an elbow to defendant's face to gain compliance," court records show. "Defendant was then compliant with officers after officers struck defendant in the face with their elbow."
