1. 2 Men Tried Switching Seats Before Joliet Traffic Stop: Police (patch.com) — Overnight Joliet police say they stopped a pickup on the east side after an equipment violation and saw the driver and passenger allegedly try to switch seats. Officers report recovering suspected cocaine from passenger Jose Elias of Blue Island and a loaded handgun under the driver's seat near Maple and Cass, leading to multiple felony charges and both men being taken to the Will County jail.
   

2. VIDEO: Startled Joliet Police Officer Finds Man, 37, Hiding Under Pool Deck: 'I Didn't Do Anything Wrong' (patch.com) — Joliet police body camera video shows officers finding 37-year-old Ian Kush hiding under a backyard pool deck on Messines Ridge Court, where he was accused of violating an order of protection. Officers arrested him, searched his backpack and took him to Will County Jail, and a judge later declined a prosecution request to keep him detained under the SAFE-T Act.
   

3. Joliet Central and West High School Students Honored with College Board National Recognition Awards (patch.com) — Joliet Township High School District 204 has honored dozens of Joliet Central and Joliet West students for earning prestigious College Board National Recognition Awards, highlighting strong GPAs and standout test or AP performance. Many of the honorees are also first-generation college-bound students, underscoring local academic achievement and opportunity in Joliet's public high schools.
   

4. Joliet, Illinois Man Jumps Off Porch, Rolls Away To Avoid Arrest (97x.com) — In Joliet, police say a speeding stop turned chaotic when driver Angell Garcia allegedly fled to a home on Kelly Avenue, tumbled off a porch, and struggled with officers before arrest. Court records show he's now charged with reckless driving, resisting police, aggravated fleeing, and aggravated battery. It's his second Will County Jail stay in three months.
   

5. Joliet IL man facing numerous charges after being stopped for speeding (1630kcjj.com) — A Joliet man is facing multiple drug, weapon, and OWI charges after being stopped for speeding and allegedly showing signs of intoxication. Police say they found cannabis, paraphernalia, and a handgun in his vehicle, and his reported breath-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit. If convicted on all counts, he could face more than 14 years in prison.
