• SUV stolen in Montgomery as shots fired (chronicleillinois.com) — An early-morning SUV theft on Mayfield Drive in Montgomery led to shots being fired when the owner tried to intervene, though no one was hurt. Police tracked the stolen vehicle through multiple jurisdictions to Chicago, detained three suspects, and recovered a firearm while continuing to investigate. Residents are urged to secure vehicles, check any camera footage, and contact Detective Luke Lindholm with tips.
