Naperville Sunrise Rotary Offers Grants For Youth, Family Initiatives (patch.com) — Naperville nonprofits and schools have a new chance to secure funding for programs that support local kids, families and young adults, thanks to grants from the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations and schools must propose youth- or family-focused initiatives and submit applications by Oct. 23 at 5 p.m., with club leaders emphasizing investments in future community leaders.

Naperville Responds Marks 25th Anniversary of 9/11 With Memorial Ruck March (positivelynaperville.com) — Naperville residents are invited to join a 3-mile 9/11 Memorial Ruck March on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, starting 6 a.m. at Naperville Safety Town. The $40 event, free for kids 12 and under, includes a Millennium Carillon climb and welcomes all fitness levels to honor victims and support local veterans together.

Naperville News Digest: Naperbrook Golf Course tee boxes to be renovated; DuPage reports first human West Nile virus case (chicagotribune.com) — Naperbrook Golf Course will rebuild three worn tee boxes this fall while keeping all 18 holes open using temporary tees. DuPage County has confirmed its first human West Nile virus case, and Naperville Park District will also conduct prescribed burns in more than two dozen local parks to improve ecosystem health and reduce debris.

4. Part of Book Road reopens in Naperville; pipeline project continues (nctv17.org) — Drivers in Naperville can once again use Book Road between Rickert and 75th Street, but major closures remain as the WaterLink Pipeline project continues into 2027. Expect ongoing shutdowns between 75th and 95th streets and on 248th Avenue, though Springbrook Prairie Trail stays open. Residents can share concerns via WaterLink's hotline while the Lake Michigan water main work progresses.

5. New Kid Booster Resource Center helps students in Naperville D203 (nctv17.org) — Students and families in Naperville District 203 now have a centralized Kid Booster Resource Center providing winter gear, clothing, and personal care items at Connections Transition Services. Special needs students there gain real-world vocational experience by managing inventory and packing orders, while community donations continue to stock the shelves for low-income classmates.
