Northbrook Library Collecting Pajamas, Books For Children In Foster Care

The annual Sweet Dreams drive accepts new donations through Nov. 15, with a collection bin in the library lobby.

NORTHBROOK, IL — New pajamas and bedtime books can help bring comfort to local children in foster care through a donation drive underway at Northbrook Public Library.

The library is partnering with state Sen. Julie Morrison for the annual Sweet Dreams Pajama & Book Drive, which runs Oct. 1 through Nov. 15.

Residents can place donations in the lobby collection bin at the library, 1201 Cedar Lane. All items must be brand-new.

The drive seeks:

  • Children’s pajamas in sizes newborn through youth size 12.
  • New bedtime books for children.

Donations benefit CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, and support local children in foster care, according to the library.

CASA volunteers advocate for children as courts determine where they can safely and permanently live, according to Morrison’s office.

Other collection sites include the Northbrook Community Center, 3323 Walters Ave., and Morrison’s district office, 400 Lake Cook Road, Suite 100B, in Deerfield. Additional locations are available in Deerfield, Highland Park, Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, Northfield and Wheeling.
