• Oak Park and River Forest High School board OKs $140K for technology replacement (chicagotribune.com) — Students at Oak Park and River Forest High School will see major upgrades in their multimedia and graphic design labs after the board approved $142,188 for new computers. The investment replaces outdated machines and supports classes in game design, digital art, web development, and student tech internships that prepare teens for modern creative and tech careers.
   

• Oak Park ramping up costs for single-use bags leading to full ban in 2030 (oakpark.com) — Oak Park's village board has voted 6-1 to steadily raise the single-use bag fee at major retailers starting Jan. 1, 2027, leading to a full plastic bag ban in 2030. Officials say the higher fees aim to cut bag use while maintaining sustainability funding, though one trustee warned about added costs for residents already struggling with expenses.
