• Oswego man charged after hours-long police standoff (wspynews.com) — Residents near Colchester Drive in Oswego faced a recent hours-long police standoff that led to a shelter-in-place order after officers say a 44-year-old man threatened first responders and fired a gun. The suspect, now in Kendall County Jail, is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault, with all allegations still unproven as he awaits a November 12 court appearance.
   

• Oswego plan commissioners recommend approval of scaled back housing development near Oswego East (shawlocal.com) — Oswego's Planning and Zoning Commission has backed a scaled-down Lodi Grove subdivision just west of Oswego East High School, trimming overall density and adding more open space. Commissioners insist the developer include a crucial southern access to Wolfs Crossing Road before village trustees take up the plan, which would add hundreds of homes and townhomes on 102 acres.
