Obituary: Abigail Jean 'Abby' Harris

Abigail Jean "Abby" Harris, 27, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on May 4, 2026. Born on October 15, 1998, in Joliet, Illinois, Abby brought light and joy to those who knew her throughout her life.

Abby was the beloved daughter of Edward C. "Chuck" Harris and Carole A. Harris (née Cunningham) and the cherished sister of Rebecca "Becky" Harris. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Doris Harris, Robert “Bob” Lange, Leona “Lee” Harris, Edward E. Harris, Patricia “Pat” Cunningham, and Henry “Harry” Cunningham. Abby has numerous extended family members that are greatly missing her.

Abby was the following but also so much more, an Actress, Activist, CHD Warrior and a beloved sister. Abby had a passion for theater and singing that enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Her love for travel and adventure reflected her vibrant spirit and curiosity about the world. Whether performing on stage or exploring new horizons, Abby embraced life with enthusiasm and creativity.

Her memory will be treasured by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her legacy of joy and passion continue to inspire others.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 3-8 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W. Renwick Road in Plainfield. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 13, for a funeral service beginning at 10am.

Abby’s final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery, 200 W. Romeo Road in Romeoville, alongside her grandmother Dori on May 13.
