• Romeoville, Illinois, launches youth, senior advisory councils (cbsnews.com) — Romeoville is launching two new advisory councils so local youth and seniors can directly influence village decisions on issues like transportation, housing, recreation, and safety. The Young Leaders Advisory Council and Senior Advisory Council will report to village leaders, and interested residents are invited to contact the Village of Romeoville to get involved. 
• Girls flag football: 5 players to watch in the Herald-News area (shawlocal.com) — Two standout Romeoville Spartans, receiver Milan Cadet and running back Jamiah Player, are among five girls flag football players to watch in the Herald-News area this season. Their huge yardage and touchdown totals last year put Romeoville firmly on the regional sports map.
