City-approved plans include multiple restaurants, retail space, shared parking, an outdoor plaza and a pickleball-focused Match Haus venue, though officials have not yet announced opening dates.

3. St. Charles Singers To Present NORTH AMERICAN MOSIAC in October (broadwayworld.com) — A beloved local choir is kicking off its 42nd season with "North American Mosaic," a pair of concerts at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church in downtown St. Charles on October 3 and 4. You'll hear a rich mix of U.S. and Canadian choral works, including spirituals, gospel, and contemporary pieces, and you can still get involved in the local arts scene by nominating favorite productions before October 31.
   

4. Illinois Lottery Lucky Day Lotto pays 5 jackpots statewide (thetelegraph.com) — A Lucky Day Lotto ticket sold at the Shell station on West Main Street in St. Charles hit a $550,000 jackpot over Labor Day weekend, also earning the store a $5,500 bonus. The win was part of a streak of five jackpots statewide, and lottery officials remind winners to sign their tickets, store them safely, and claim prizes within a year.
   

5. St. Charles East's defense, RB duo, earns first conference win: Kane County Chronicle football notebook (shawlocal.com) — St. Charles East football just snapped a five-game conference skid with a dramatic 22-21 overtime win, powered by a strong defense and a resurgent running back duo. The notebook also spotlights Geneva's standout two-way play against St. Charles North and St. Francis' hopes with a healthy quarterback, giving local fans plenty to watch as the season unfolds.
