Pumpkin Fest Returns To Cosley Zoo With New Offerings For 2026 Season (patch.com) — Cosley Zoo in Wheaton is gearing up for Pumpkin Fest starting Oct. 1, with pumpkins, gourds, straw bales and apples for sale. Admission includes festival entry, with extra-cost rides and new face painting. The zoo will also host a Spooktacular Halloween Stroll on Oct. 16, where families can wear costumes and decorate pumpkins.

Wheaton Police Department releases weekly arrest and crime report for August 17-23 (dupagepolicyjournal.com) — Wheaton residents can review the latest police report covering Aug. 17–23, which lists several DUI and warrant arrests involving local and nearby drivers, plus theft, forgery and identity theft cases in specific Wheaton neighborhoods. Police stress that all defendants are presumed innocent and encourage residents to share tips anonymously through the ACT program and DuPage County Sheriff's website.

Wheaton holds 9/11 memorial to honor local victims, heroes (wgntv.com) — Wheaton residents gathered Friday for a solemn 9/11 memorial honoring locals who died in the attacks and in subsequent military service. Naperville News Digest: KidsMatter holding science video contest; National Merit Scholarship semifinalists announced (chicagotribune.com) — DuPage County's Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program will take applications at the county's Wheaton Community Services office starting Oct. 1 for seniors, disabled residents, young families, and those facing utility shutoffs. Wheaton residents can also seek furnace repair help and should apply early, as funds are first-come, first-served through 2027.
