• 2 men sentenced to federal prison for armed robbery of Carmel CVS (fox59.com) — Two men have received lengthy federal prison sentences for an armed robbery at the CVS on Rangeline Road in Carmel, where an employee had a gun pointed at her while prescription drugs were stolen. Carmel police quickly chased down the suspects, recovering pills and firearms, and federal prosecutors say the punishment is meant to deter similar violent crimes in central Indiana. 
• Indiana's Wagner Notches Seventh BFL Win at Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event at the Detroit River Presented by Suzuki Marine (anglerschannel.com) — A weekend Bass Fishing League event on the Detroit River featured a strong showing from Carmel angler Russell Vandiver, who finished ninth with a five-bass limit weighing 19 pounds, 1 ounce. Indiana's Heath Wagner took the overall win, but Vandiver's performance keeps Carmel on the leaderboard as anglers chase points toward regional and national championship berths.
• Indy to determine if flood damage will impact future road spending priorities (fox59.com) — Recent record flooding hit Noblesville and Carmel far harder than Indianapolis, and that damage could reshape how the state and cities prioritize future road and bridge spending. Indianapolis officials are now reassessing infrastructure along the White River to see what must be fixed or moved up the list, which may influence how much state recovery money and attention our area ultimately receives.
