'Burb Bites: Shein's Central Indiana footprint expands (axios.com) — Carmel will again host the Indiana Women's Running Festival in mid-October, featuring a women-only half marathon, 10K, 5K, and a post-race celebration at Civic Square. Events start Oct. 16 with packet pickup and an expo, followed by the Oct. 17 races that support several women-focused nonprofits and offer discounted registration through Oct. 15.

2. 37-year-old Noblesville man dies in single-car crash near Carmel High School (wthr.com) — A Noblesville man died after his SUV crashed into a roundabout wall just outside Carmel High School early Sunday morning, and Carmel police are still investigating what caused the wreck. The 37-year-old driver was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead, with authorities still working to determine whether alcohol or other factors played a role.

3. Carmel man accused of voyeurism at Target, hiding evidence (youarecurrent.com) — A Carmel resident has been charged with public voyeurism and obstruction of justice after police say he took an upskirt photo of a shopper at the Target on Michigan Road and then fled into a nearby wooded area. Officers arrested him on September 11, but investigators have not recovered the cellphone involved, and his trial is scheduled for January 20, 2027.

Don't miss these October performances at the Center (readthereporter.com) — Carmel's Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts has a packed October lineup, with concerts, comedy, children's opera, tributes, and piano recitals at the Palladium, Tarkington, and Studio Theater. From Bruce Hornsby and Art Garfunkel to stand-up showcases and family-friendly performances, residents can already buy tickets online for a wide variety of shows close to home.

New 2026 List of Best Places To Live Includes 8 Utah Cities But Not Park City (catcountryutah.com) — Carmel has been named the top city to live in the United States in a new U.S. News & World Report ranking, beating out hundreds of others nationwide. The list cites Carmel's relatively moderate home prices compared with strong household incomes, while also noting several Utah cities that made the broader top-250 list.
