• Evansville man accused of violating protective order and releasing dogs from home (tristatehomepage.com) — An Evansville man was arrested in Henderson, Kentucky, after police say he violated a protective order involving his ex-girlfriend's family and tried to release her dogs in hot weather, putting them at risk. Officers report he resisted arrest, yelled at the animals to run away, and is now held without bond on animal cruelty, invasion of privacy, neglect, and a Vanderburgh County warrant.
   

• Victim texts 911 after man threatens to 'put a bullet in her,' police say (14news.com) — Evansville police arrested a man after a woman texted 911 saying he threatened to shoot her and showed a bag containing a handgun. Officers responded to Harrison Boulevard, detained the suspect, recovered the firearm from a garage, and booked him into the Vanderburgh County Jail on an intimidation with a deadly weapon charge.
