Nine officers fired weapons in fatal Gary officer-involved shooting, ISP says (bloomingtonian.com) — Nine officers fired their weapons during a fatal police shooting near the Metro Center at Broadway and 4th Avenue in Gary late Friday night, after reports of an armed security officer acting erratically. Indiana State Police are investigating, the armed person died at the scene, and six Gary officers plus three Lake County deputies are on administrative leave while details, including identities, remain undisclosed.
