Walmart Academy celebrates 10 years, awards $250k to Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce (dailyjournal.net) — A new $250,000 Walmart grant to the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce will fund workforce programs aimed at helping Indianapolis-area residents gain skills and connect with better-paying jobs. Over the next five years, local employers, educators, and nonprofits will collaborate on training, career pathways, and AI-driven tools to match workers with high-demand roles across Central Indiana.
   

2. New TSA program allows non-travelers past security, available at IND (wthr.com) — Indianapolis residents can now go past security at Indianapolis International Airport without a ticket through the new Gateside by TSA PreCheck program. Locals who are TSA PreCheck members can apply online up to three days ahead to meet loved ones at the gate, enjoy airport restaurants, or plane-watch, all while TSA limits daily participants to protect normal travel flow.

Best Restaurants 2026: St. Elmo Steak House-Wisanggeni Pawon (indianapolismonthly.com) — Several standout Indianapolis restaurants, from St. Elmo Steak House downtown to neighborhood favorites like Strange Bird, Tinker Street, Vida, and Wisanggeni Pawon, are highlighted as must‑visit spots. The guide emphasizes local chefs, seasonal ingredients, and distinctive dishes, giving Indianapolis diners fresh ideas for special occasions, casual nights out, and impressive places to take visiting friends and family.
   

4. ROCKaBLOCK Among First InFocus Award Winners (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis entrepreneur Rockland Page and his shop ROCKaBLOCK are among the first winners of the new InFocus Award, spotlighting standout small businesses in the city. Since moving his business downtown, Page has used his storefront for concerts, comedy shows, and partnerships that draw people in, deepen community ties, and build visibility for local entrepreneurs.
   

5. EnPower Develops Industrial Robot Batteries in U.S. (industrytap.com) — A battery manufacturer is planning to build ultra-high‑power robot batteries right here in its Indianapolis facility, giving local industry a new source for fast‑charging, long‑life cells. The partnership with Echion targets industrial robots, autonomous vehicles, and even AI data centers, potentially positioning Indianapolis as a key domestic hub for advanced battery production and related high‑tech jobs.
