Firefighters remember 'sacred line of duty' during Indianapolis 9/11 ceremony (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis firefighters marked 9/11 on Friday with a downtown remembrance that included a Mass, 1.7‑mile memorial parade, and ceremony outside Indianapolis Fire Department Station 13. Union members planted 343 flags at their Local 416 memorial, honored Indiana Task Force 1 members affected by Ground Zero service, and welcomed a retired FDNY firefighter who reflected on colleagues lost.

Drivers along West 56th Street often recognize him, and Clark says the tradition helps him connect with others in Indianapolis who carry their own stories of loss and resilience.

Indianapolis Airport Seeks Top U.S. Art Ranking as 2026 USA TODAY Voting Opens (travelprnews.com) — Indianapolis International Airport is asking local residents and travelers to vote daily through October 7 in USA TODAY's 10Best contest for Best Airport for Art. With millions passing through IND and many noticing its murals, performances, and rotating exhibits, the airport says a win would spotlight Indianapolis artists and pump more attention and dollars into the city's creative economy.
   

5. Man Charged in Woman's Death in Hancock County (wibc.com) — A man who was temporarily living in Indianapolis has been charged with causing death while intoxicated in a Hancock County crash that killed 43‑year‑old Nikki Megale in May. Her family, citing a history of domestic violence, is frustrated by the single charge but hopes her death reminds Indianapolis‑area drivers to stay sober and responsible behind the wheel.
