1. Headed to your first Indy farmer's market? Meet your new guide. (mirrorindy.org) — Indianapolis east-sider Koby Bluitt is helping residents, especially Black neighbors, feel more comfortable shopping at local farmers markets through her Meet Motha at the Market meetups. Her final summer event runs 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Bodi Buzz and Rooted Legacy urban farm on North German Church Road, where attendees can learn from vendors, sample produce, and connect with local Black farmers.
   

2. Indianapolis FOP demands judge's removal following child abuse sentencing (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis' Fraternal Order of Police is demanding that Judge Jeffrey Marchal be removed from future child abuse cases after sentencing former teacher Julian Wachner to probation instead of prison. The group is also pressing for discipline of the deputy prosecutor, more transparency in Marion County courts, and statewide reporting of child abuse case outcomes, potentially affecting how such crimes are handled locally.
   

3. Indianapolis plan means you could live one step closer to a trail (wthr.com) — Indianapolis is rolling out its 'Greenways for All' plan, aiming to more than triple the city's trail network from 120 to 380 miles so that 80% of Marion County residents live within a mile of a greenway. The proposal includes expanding Eagle Creek Greenway, building the new Grassy Creek connection, and improving 1,200 crosswalks, with feedback open through October 15. City officials say the long-term project could boost health, jobs access, and local economic development.
   

4. Ravenswood resident still trying to recover from flood damage (wthr.com) — One month after severe flooding in Indianapolis, an 83-year-old Ravenswood resident is still struggling to repair her longtime home and is waiting on FEMA assistance. Volunteers are helping her rip out damaged floors and drywall while she temporarily stays with a neighbor. Her story underscores how many local homeowners without flood insurance now face a race against colder weather to secure aid and contractors.
   

5. OPP assistant directors Danielson, Dragnev craft industry-first approach for student employment success in Indianapolis (purdue.edu) — Purdue students in Indianapolis now have a structured path to internships and co-ops through the Office of Professional Practice's new ENGR 10301 course and one-on-one support. Assistant directors Pete Dragnev and Katrin Danielson are helping first-year engineering students build resumes, practice networking, and connect with local industry partners, culminating in a First-Year Career Networking Night this October.
