• As Iowa cities sue fire truck manufacturers for prices, one company has an alternative (who13.com) — Johnston has joined Des Moines and other Iowa cities in suing major fire truck manufacturers, alleging anti-competitive practices that raise prices and delay deliveries. With new trucks costing up to $2 million and long wait times, some departments are turning to an online marketplace for used equipment while local budgets, including Des Moines', are being cut. 
• ICGA Calls on IA Congressional Delegation for Immediate Diesel Fuel Relief Ahead of Harvest (morningagclips.com) — From Johnston, the Iowa Corn Growers Association is urging Iowa's congressional delegation to act quickly to bring down diesel prices as harvest begins. With fuel nearing $6 per gallon and up sharply from last year, the group warns that rising costs are adding serious financial and mental strain for farmers across Iowa.
