Investigators say he was driving at extreme speeds and well over the legal alcohol limit before striking 75-year-old Barbara Patterson's vehicle at 127th and Quivira, where she died at the scene.

Sedalia area crash reports for Sept. 17 (sedaliademocrat.com) — A 30-year-old Overland Park man suffered serious injuries in a Johnson County, Missouri crash Tuesday night when his car was struck on the driver's side along U.S. 50. A 37-year-old Olathe woman in the other vehicle had minor injuries and declined treatment. Both were wearing seat belts, and the Overland Park driver was taken to a Warrensburg hospital.
