Sunday garage fire reported in Topeka (ksnt.com) — A Sunday afternoon garage fire in Topeka's 2100 block of Southwest College Avenue killed two dogs and drew an aggressive response from city firefighters. Crews quickly knocked down the blaze, found no people home at the time, and the Topeka Fire Department is now investigating what caused the fire.
   

2. Pay It Forward: Rotary Club of Topeka (wibw.com) — Topeka residents may see new support for local service projects after DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers donated $500 to the Topeka Rotary Club. Club leaders say the money will help efforts like providing coats and socks to children, supporting Toys for Tots, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, and contributing to global polio eradication.

Police K-9s compete in Topeka games to raise money for Special Olympics (wibw.com) — Local residents just saw police K-9 teams from across Kansas compete at the Stormont Vail Events Center in Topeka, raising money for Kansas Special Olympics. The free event featured obstacle courses and speed challenges, showcased the dogs' training, and encouraged ongoing donations to support Special Olympics athletes statewide.
