CommonSpirit awards $20,000 to Lexington schools for art programs (lexingtonky.news) — Lexington elementary students will see new kindness-focused art projects after CommonSpirit Health awarded $20,000 in grants to art teachers at 12 local schools. The funding, coordinated with Fayette County Public Schools and the Fayette Education Foundation, supports murals, photography, chalk art, and schoolwide activities aimed at boosting empathy, connection, and safer neighborhoods for Lexington kids.

'We're taking back our streets:' Roots and Heritage Festival opens with prayer, community message (lex18.com) — Lexington's Roots and Heritage Festival is underway this weekend in the East End, opening with a powerful prayer calling residents to "take back" their streets after a violent month. 4. BCTC captures 3 Best of Lexington awards (kentuckytoday.com) — Bluegrass Community and Technical College just picked up three "Best of Lexington" honors, including Gold awards for Best Trade/Technical School and Best Equestrian Riding School. Based in and around Lexington, BCTC highlights its strong career training and equine programs that serve Central Kentucky students seeking affordable paths into high-demand local industries and transfer opportunities.
   

5. Fayette County schools honor 9/11 with day of service, community action (lex18.com) — Fayette County Public Schools in Lexington marked the 9/11 Day of Service by having Crawford Middle School students write letters to service members and seniors and work on local beautification and environmental projects. Activities at places like Henry Clay High's JROTC course and Dixie Park aimed to help students, who weren't yet born in 2001, honor the day through meaningful community action.
