Changing roles: Stevenson goes from marketing to missions pastor for Immanuel Baptist (kentuckytoday.com) — Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington has promoted longtime communications director Bradley Stevenson to missions pastor, aligning with a new "gather, grow and go" focus. Dolly Parton's Legacy Lives On as More Cities Make Heartfelt Gesture (entertainmentnow.com) — Lexington will join cities nationwide in honoring Dolly Parton on September 25 with official community events supporting her Imagination Library, keeping her legacy of literacy and generosity alive locally. While Manhattan, New Orleans, and other communities plan parades, bar crawls, and library programs, Lexington residents will be able to celebrate Parton close to home while raising money for children's books.
   

5. Guests 'thrilled' to meet Gov. Beshear during Lexington comic, toy convention (fox56news.com) — Fans at Lexington Comic and Toy Con were surprised when Gov. Andy Beshear stopped by unannounced, drawing one of the longest lines of the weekend. Organizers say in-person reactions were overwhelmingly positive despite some online criticism, and the multi-day convention at the heart of Lexington's pop culture scene continues through Sept. 6 with tickets still on sale.
