• Fort Campbell girls cross-country captures McCracken County Invitational title (kentuckynewera.com) — Paducah hosted the McCracken County Invitational this past weekend, where Fort Campbell's girls cross-country team dominated with five top‑10 finishes and the overall team title. Local fans saw a commanding 1‑2 individual finish and enough depth from the Lady Falcons to easily secure the traveling Mustang mascot and momentum heading into their next meet in Murray.
   

• The mid-Mississippi Valley just logged its hottest first week of September on record (morningoverview.com) — Residents in Paducah just lived through the hottest opening week of September on record for the region, with five straight days above 95 degrees and unusually muggy dew points. The National Weather Service's Paducah office reports the broader four-state area also shattered multiple early-September heat and heat-index records, prompting days of extreme heat warnings and stressing homes, public buildings, and power demand.
   

• Kimberly N. Brueck (davidsoncountysource.com) — Paducah is mourning the passing of 65‑year‑old Kimberly N. Brueck, who died at her home on September 3 and was active at Salt & Light Community Church. Friends and neighbors can pay their respects at visitation Thursday, September 10, starting at 3:30 p.m., followed by a 5:30 p.m. memorial service at the church on Pugh Road.
