1. Farmers run 1970s gear as combines hit $1M (moneywise.com) — A Paducah farmer working 2,000 acres is sticking with older tractors and combines as new machines approach $1 million and retrofit tech would cost another $100,000. The story explains how he and other growers nationwide stretch 1970s equipment, repair their own gear, and navigate rising machinery prices and tighter farm incomes.

2. United Airlines adds 14 new flights including Tokyo and Santa Fe (rollingout.com subscription) — Paducah travelers are set to gain new United Airlines connections to Chicago O'Hare as part of a 14-route expansion that also adds Tokyo Narita and Santa Fe. 3. Self announces 2026-27 women's golf schedule (roarlions.com) — Paducah will host the University of North Alabama women's golf team Sept. 14–15 for the Velvet Classic, kicking off their 2026–27 season. The schedule features 12 tournaments across the South and beyond, as longtime coach Neil Self leads a veteran-heavy roster with several standout returners and three promising freshmen.

4. Betty Alexander McKinney (westkentuckystar.com) — Paducah is mourning the passing of 77-year-old Betty Alexander McKinney, who died Friday at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
