• Jeff Davis deputy shoots armed robbery suspect who charged at him with knife, state police say (fox8live.com) — An armed robbery investigation at the Shop Rite on Elton Drive in Jennings turned critical when a Jeff Davis Parish deputy shot a suspect who allegedly charged with a knife. Authorities say the deputy ordered the man to drop the weapon, then fired during a struggle and provided first aid. State Police are now reviewing the shooting to confirm what happened. 
• Police find fentanyl at Jennings home after child's 9-1-1 call (klfy.com) — A 10-year-old's 911 call about a suspected overdose in Jennings led police to a South Main Street home, where they say they found about an ounce of suspected fentanyl. Two adults were identified as suspects but released with charges pending because of parish jail overcrowding, and investigators warn more charges could follow as evidence is reviewed.
• Carjacking suspects caught after crashing stolen Charger (klfy.com) — Jennings police say two suspects were arrested after a reported armed carjacking ended with a stolen Dodge Charger crashing off I-10 near town. Officers recovered suspected marijuana packaged for distribution and a handgun with an extended magazine, and one suspect also had outstanding robbery warrants. Residents may notice ongoing investigation work as police examine possible links to other crimes.
