Liquor bottle to the neck: Jury convicts Abingdon man in Aberdeen bus stop attacks (foxbaltimore.com) — A Harford County jury has convicted an Abingdon man of first- and second-degree assault for attacking two men at an Aberdeen bus stop on East Bel Air Avenue, including striking one in the neck with a liquor bottle. Aberdeen Police identified and arrested the suspect days after the November 2025 incident, and he now remains at the Harford County Detention Center awaiting sentencing.
   

2. Maryland Italian Festival offers 'bright light' for title sponsor reeling from warehouse fire (wmar2news.com) — Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen is hosting the Maryland Italian Festival this weekend, offering food, entertainment, and expanded cultural activities while supporting local charities. The event is also a morale boost for title sponsor Frank Avena, whose Jarrettsville Furniture warehouse recently suffered a $1 million fire, as organizers rally community support and encourage residents to attend using shuttles and the event app.
   

3. Nuclear Reactor, Natural Gas Power Plant To Be Built At APG (patch.com) — Aberdeen Proving Ground is slated to host a new small nuclear reactor and natural gas power plant, boosting long-term energy reliability for the installation and regional grid. Army officials say development could begin next year, with electricity flowing by 2030, as part of a broader push to secure resilient, on-post power for critical missions.
   

4. Edgewood Creamery closing Monday after lease dispute: 'It doesn't mean it's the end of the line' (wmar2news.com) — Edgewood Creamery is closing its Edgewood shop Monday after a lease dispute, but the owners say they plan to reopen locally and launch a second shop in Aberdeen called Northside Creamery. That means Aberdeen residents could eventually gain a new spot for unique ice cream flavors, though both the new Edgewood and Aberdeen locations may be months away.
