Blazers, Bourbon & Cigars Set for September 24 in Downtown Annapolis (eyeonannapolis.net) — Annapolis residents can enjoy bourbon tastings, curated cigars, and food at the Blazers · Bourbon · Cigars fundraiser in the William Paca Garden on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026. 3. EYC Foundation Awards Marine and Maritime Scholarships to 12 Students (eyeonannapolis.net) — Several Annapolis students have been awarded EYC Foundation scholarships to pursue marine engineering and international business and logistics degrees at leading maritime academies, helping launch local talent into maritime careers. The program, now in its twelfth year, also supports returning scholars and celebrates recent graduates who have moved into naval architecture, commercial shipping, and Navy officer roles.
   

4. With Boats Getting Bigger, Money Is Flowing Into Marinas (dailygazette.com) — Annapolis boaters should know that Blackstone recently bought the city's largest marina as part of a massive national push to acquire waterfront facilities. The private equity giant now controls roughly 200 marinas and is emphasizing a membership model, raising questions in several coastal communities about rising traffic, megayachts, neighborhood impacts, and whether smaller local boaters could be priced or pushed out.
   

5. Preston Burton Claims Runner-up Honors at The Goat (tribeathletics.com) — A collegiate golf tournament at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis saw William & Mary's Preston Burton tie for the lead before losing in a playoff, helping his team finish third overall. The two-day event brought 14 college programs to the local course, with George Washington taking the team title and several players posting under-par rounds.
