Baltimore Father Charged After 1-Year-Old Dies In Hot Car: Police (patch.com) — Baltimore residents are learning more about a tragic July incident in which a 1-year-old boy died from heat exposure after being left in a family vehicle on Greenspring Avenue. Police say the child's father, 32-year-old Yaakov Reichman, has now turned himself in and faces an involuntary manslaughter charge following the medical examiner's ruling of hyperthermia.
   

2. Baltimore City Homeownership Pilot Turns Investment Into National Recognition (mdcounties.org) — Baltimore City's Buy Back the Block pilot has helped 117 households buy homes across 57 neighborhoods and just earned a national award from county leaders. Funded initially by American Rescue Plan dollars and now extended with city money, the program offers down payment assistance, boosts local real estate activity, and is projected to generate over $1 million in annual property tax revenue.
   

3. Judge denies Baltimore City's request to pause OIG subpoena order (foxbaltimore.com) — A Baltimore City judge has refused Mayor Brandon Scott's request to pause a sweeping order forcing the city to quickly turn over subpoenaed records to the Inspector General, keeping the document production on track. City lawyers warn the order could expose confidential material and are pursuing an expedited appeal, while the broader showdown over the Inspector General's subpoena power heads to a key Sept. 16 hearing in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
   

4. Two 40-year-old men shot on same Baltimore block hours apart police say (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Two 40-year-old men wounded in separate locations were both actually shot on the same block of Laurens Street in Baltimore, according to police. One victim was found near Pennsylvania Avenue late Monday, while the other turned up hours later at a Park Heights home, and detectives are now asking city residents for tips as they piece together what happened.
   

5. Baltimore County DPW addresses Warren Road Bridge disputes (wbal.com) — Baltimore County officials are weighing safety, funding, and ownership questions for the Warren Road Bridge, which internal emails say may reach the end of its lifespan within about five years. Negotiations with Baltimore City over federal funding and other shared assets continue, while county school officials plan to reroute buses away from the bridge out of caution.
