3. BGE offers free home energy check-ups to help save money (wbal.com) — BGE customers in the Baltimore area can now schedule free Quick Home Energy Check-ups that identify simple upgrades like LEDs, pipe insulation, and weatherstripping to cut bills by up to 15–20%. A contractor visits your home, installs basic efficiency products at no extra cost, and BGE has also proposed expanded EmPOWER Maryland programs aimed at further reducing customer energy costs.

Family travel 5: Vacations on the water (star-telegram.com) — Baltimore's Inner Harbor gets a prime spotlight here, with families encouraged to visit the National Aquarium, get out on the water by kayak or sailboat, and dig into blue crabs and other local seafood. The piece also suggests several other water-focused vacation spots nationwide, but emphasizes Baltimore as a lively, family-friendly waterfront getaway within easy reach for locals and visitors alike.
