• Maryland Public Service Commission Invites Comments on Proposed Solar Project in Harford County (maryland.gov) — A proposed 2.5 MW solar project along MD Routes 543 and 136 in Harford County is open for public comment, and residents can review the application at the county Planning & Zoning office in downtown Bel Air. The Public Service Commission will hold an in-person and virtual hearing on Sept. 10, with written comments accepted through Sept. 11, 2026.
   

• Harford locations join Maryland network of weather stations to better prepare for emergencies (belairnewsandviews.com) — Harford County officials in Bel Air have added three new weather stations in Fallston, Whiteford, and Edgewood to the statewide Maryland Mesonet, giving first responders better real-time data during storms. The network helps emergency staff anticipate flooding, track approaching systems, and position resources more effectively to protect residents across the county.
