Carjacking Suspect Arrested After Drone Discovers Hiding Spot: Laurel Police

LAUREL, MD — A Silver Spring man has been arrested after Laurel Police say he attempted to carjack a woman's vehicle, then ran away from officers.

The incident happened Sept. 17, according to Laurel Police. The woman was carjacked during the day by the man, who grabbed her keys. Police officers called to the scene found the man, who then ran off.

Officers pursued the man, and the police department's drone team sent up a drone to track him from above.

"That coordinated response led to the swift arrest of a dangerous suspect," the police department stated.

The man was identified as Alex Skinner Abramson, 34, of Silver Spring. Abramson was arrested and charged with attempted carjacking, theft, resisting arrest and other related charges.
