Hit-And-Run Driver Sought In Crash That Killed Temple Hills Man In Wheelchair

CAMP SPRINGS, MD — A 67-year-old man in a wheelchair was fatally hit while crossing a street in Camp Springs. Detectives are searching for the driver, who didn't remain at the scene.

The incident happened Saturday around 12:30 a.m. in the 6300 block of Allentown Road in Camp Springs. Prince George's County police officers found the victim, identified Tuesday as James Evan Moore, Jr. of Temple Hills, in the road with traumatic injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests the driver of the involved vehicle was heading northbound on Allentown Road when the vehicle hit Moore in the wheelchair while he apparently was crossing the road. The involved vehicle has been described as a dark blue or black SUV or pickup truck.
