• National Championship Title Beckons To 11-Year-Old Bowie Golfer (patch.com) — Bowie families can cheer on 11-year-old golfer Christian Moten, who practices at The Country Club at Woodmore as he prepares for a nationally televised championship in Louisiana this November. After winning a regional title with a clutch birdie, the principal's-honor-roll student is doubling down on weekly practice rounds and tournaments while dreaming of college and possibly professional golf.
   

• Founder of 2 DC-area nonprofits accused of pocketing grant funds for personal use (wtop.com) — A Bowie resident who founded two D.C.-area nonprofits is being sued by the D.C. attorney general, accused of diverting more than $125,000 in government grant money for personal and real estate uses. The suit claims she violated a 2025 settlement that required repayment and loss of financial control, and now seeks to enforce that agreement and recoup additional legal costs.
