• South Lake Marketplace Expands Retail Lineup with Five New Tenant Openings (citybiz.co) — New shops including AT&T, Club Pilates, Jersey Mike's, Ledo Pizza, and Pack 'N Business Solutions are now open at South Lake Marketplace in Bowie, expanding everyday services and dining options for residents. The $1.3 billion South Lake development will ultimately add 1,600 homes, hotels, and a major indoor sports facility alongside Liberty Sports Park, drawing visitors and boosting the local economy.
   

• Bowie State set to take on Shaw University (bsubulldogs.com) — Bowie volleyball fans can follow Bowie State's women's team as they ride momentum from a strong CIAA Round-Up into Thursday's road match at Shaw University, with a return matchup in Bowie set for Oct. 29. The Bulldogs are 6-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play, led by setter Gabrielle Hale and a balanced lineup pushing to climb the CIAA standings.
