• Food Gleaning in Howard County (howardcountymd.gov) — Farmers, volunteers, and food pantry staff are invited to a hands-on food gleaning workshop at the Harriet Tubman Cultural Center in Columbia on Wednesday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. Led by the Society of St. Andrew and hosted by the Howard County Food Council, the session will explore harvesting surplus crops to fight hunger, with lunch and networking included for participants.

• Nathaniel Rateliff, Stephen Stills, Pearl Jam's Mike McCready, Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler, State Radio and More Join Power to the People Lineup (relix.com) — A star-studded "Power to the People" concert is coming to Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia on Saturday, October 3, bringing big names like Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, and Public Enemy. Curated by Tom Morello, the all-day event promises music centered on themes of peace, love, justice, and activism, and gives local fans a rare chance to see this many major artists on one stage.
