• U.S. finishes strong to conclude Acro Juniors, World Youth Competitions • USA Gymnastics (usagym.org) — A Crofton gymnast, Grant Mathison, helped lead a U.S. men's group to a strong fifth-place finish at the Acro Junior World Championships in Italy, topping all other American entries. Several other Maryland athletes from nearby towns also placed in the top eight, giving local families plenty to cheer about as the competition now shifts to senior-level events.
