The list, based on state data and parent reviews, also showcases leading schools across Montgomery, Howard, and other counties. Factors include test performance, graduation rates, and teacher quality, but not SAT or ACT scores.
   

• Jury Selection Set for Multiple Gang-Related Murders, Carjackings (baltimorewitness.org) — A major gang-related murder and carjacking case headed for trial in Baltimore includes a 2013 Ford Taurus stolen near Good Hope Drive in Crofton, tying this long-running investigation directly to the community. Prosecutors say the car was later used in multiple Baltimore shootings before being burned. Jury selection is scheduled for early January 2027, with a lengthy trial expected.
