• 15-Year-Old Arrested After 3 Stolen Vehicles Found In Gaithersburg: Police (patch.com) — Police recovered three stolen vehicles and arrested a 15-year-old after reports of people pulling on car door handles along Town Crest Drive in Gaithersburg early Friday morning. Three other suspects escaped into a wooded area, and the investigation continues, with officers asking Gaithersburg residents to share any tips anonymously with Crime Solvers of Montgomery County.

• Quince Orchard Blvd Construction Expected to Begin September 16, Continue Into 2028 (mocoshow.com) — Expect major construction along Quince Orchard Boulevard in Gaithersburg starting around September 16, with work and intermittent parking restrictions continuing through February 2028. The city's Public Works Department will add a shared-use path, upgrade sidewalks, lighting, stormwater systems and resurface Quince Orchard Boulevard, Firstfield Road and part of Rabbitt Road, so drivers and nearby residents should prepare for minor delays and occasional short-term closures.

• Latest Lakeforest Applications Propose 848 Homes, Nearly 47,500 SF of Retail and New Streets (mocoshow.com) — Gaithersburg's massive Lakeforest redevelopment is moving forward, with new site plans proposing 848 homes, nearly 47,500 square feet of retail, and several new streets on the former mall property. City planners are still reviewing key applications, with a street-construction hearing set for September 16 and opportunities for Gaithersburg residents to submit comments by mail or email.
