• WATCH: Maryland carjacking suspect plows toward cops as they open fire (foxnews.com) — Police bodycam video shows officers confronting a carjacking suspect after a hit-and-run near North Crain Highway and 11th Avenue in Glen Burnie, where an officer was struck as she tried to flee. The chase continued toward Reece Road and Telegraph Road before officers shot and arrested the woman; both she and the injured officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
   

• Turner Station Girl Scouts visit Key Bridge wreckage (thebanner.com) — Residents who commute between Dundalk and Glen Burnie are still feeling the long-term fallout from the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse, which has reshaped travel and job options across the region. A Turner Station Girl Scout troop toured the wreckage by boat, learning about the disaster's impact while connecting with Black mariners at the historic Pleasant Yacht Club.
   

• Maryland sees record weekly traffic deaths for second time this year (wmar2news.com subscription) — From Glen Burnie, state transportation officials are warning drivers after Maryland logged 16 traffic deaths in a single week, the second such spike this year. With 279 roadway fatalities so far in 2026, they're urging slower speeds, sober and distraction-free driving, especially as students return to school statewide.
