WSSC Water provides update on Greenbelt Standpipe rehabilitation project (mdstatewire.com) — Greenbelt residents just received a detailed update on the long-running standpipe rehabilitation project, including noise controls, air and soil monitoring, and an expected completion by February 2027. WSSC Water says most customers should not lose service, except for one planned eight-hour outage on Lastner Lane, and is posting monitoring data and presentation materials online for residents to review.

The telescope, launched in August, is now cooling and calibrating on its way to a distant orbit, setting up decades of potential discoveries about dark matter, exoplanets, and the wider universe.
   

4. Maryland comptroller failed to pursue $600 million, audit finds (thederrick.com) — Greenbelt briefly takes the spotlight as the backdrop for a March event where Maryland leaders promoted an expanded Earn It tax credit campaign, now contrasted by a new audit criticizing the comptroller's tax collection efforts. The report says the office failed to fully pursue over $600 million in unpaid taxes, even as officials defend their modernized enforcement strategies.
