📰 News we're reading

• City Acts on ICE, Recognition Funding and Staff Authority (greenbeltnewsreview.com) — Greenbelt residents are directly affected by new City Council decisions on protesting ICE, tightening rules for city recognition group funding, and clarifying staff authority over HOA landscaping agreements. The council backed a strong letter opposing ICE expansion, revamped how local organizations receive city support, and confirmed that staff, not councilmembers, must negotiate landscaping MOUs with Greenbelt housing communities.

• Search continues for 2 missing Prince George's County teens (fox5dc.com) — Two 16-year-old girls from Greenbelt, Sydney Brown and Dahlyla Gordon, have been missing since Saturday, October 3 after saying they were walking to a gas station and meeting someone their parents didn't know. Their families are canvassing and posting fliers while police urge anyone with information to contact Greenbelt or Prince George's County authorities immediately.
