Roughly 40 firefighters from Bay District, NAS Patuxent River, and Hollywood departments battled the blaze, which started on the rear deck and remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.

Investigators say bogus claims resulted in thousands of dollars in payouts and higher premiums for the policyholder, with a preliminary court hearing set for early September in St. Mary’s County.
