Residents are urged not to eat any recalled soft, ricotta-like cheeses, to throw out questionable products, and to thoroughly clean kitchen surfaces, since Listeria can survive in refrigerators and poses serious risks to pregnant women, seniors, and immunocompromised people.

Mechanicsville-area residents are urged to check packages for permit number 24-128, throw away any affected cheese, sanitize surfaces it touched, and watch for symptoms like fever or muscle aches, especially in high-risk groups.
