Speed camera could be among Reisterstown Road safety changes after bus crash (wmar2news.com) — State and local officials are weighing new speed and red light cameras, lane changes, and other safety upgrades on Reisterstown Road in Pikesville after July's mass-casualty MTA bus crash injured 36 people. Planned improvements include optical speed bars, better signals, and ADA upgrades aimed at slowing traffic and protecting drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
   

2. Baltimore Sports Radio Gets Even More Crowded (dcrtv.com) — A Pikesville-based AM station, 1370 WQLL, has switched to Fox Sports Baltimore, adding another option for local sports talk and betting content. Weekdays now feature national shows like Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd, with VSiN sports betting programming evenings and weekends, further crowding Baltimore's already busy sports radio dial for Pikesville listeners.
   

3. Baltimore County extends data center pause, advances Lutherville Station, renter protections (thebaltimorebanner.com) — Baltimore County Council member Izzy Patoka of Pikesville joined a narrow minority opposing renewal of a major trash-burning contract, even as the council extended a data center moratorium and strengthened renter protections. The meeting also advanced Lutherville Station's transit-oriented designation and clarified powers of the county inspector general, shaping how development, housing, and oversight will affect Pikesville residents.
   

5. Pikesville Leader Helps Jewish Students Find Community in Public Schools (jewishtimes.com) — A Pikesville resident is helping Jewish public-school students nationwide build supportive cultural clubs and navigate religious observance at school. Through the Jewish Student Union, she's seen membership roughly double since 2023, as Baltimore-area and other schools increasingly welcome clubs that provide safe community, education, and help with holiday accommodations and identity-building before students head to college.
