• Beacon Hill Roll Call, Aug. 10-14 (gazettenet.com) — Belmont residents are represented in several major Beacon Hill actions this week, including Sen. Will Brownsberger backing tougher penalties when safety violations injure or kill firefighters. Lawmakers also advanced a Medal of Fidelity license plate, expanded the Move Over law, tightened protections against book bans, loosened some abortion restrictions, and considered measures on firefighter safety, charitable alcohol donations, and credit union governance.
