Summer Backpack Items Sought For North Shore Residents In Need
Lifebridge is collecting summer essentials in Beverly for its 2026 backpack distribution day.
BEVERLY, MA — Beverly-based Lifebridge has launched an effort to support those in the North Shore without stable housing, seeking donations for its Summer 2026 backpack distribution day.
Lifebridge is collecting warm-weather essentials for the program, which is aimed at helping those who spend a lot of time outside with tools to keep them safe and healthy during the summer months.
"Exposure to harsh weather on the North Shore puts people without stable housing at great risk," Lifebridge said. "The Lifebridge Backpack Program is rooted in our mission to meet basic needs during these New England winters and summers while fostering dignity, hope, and long-term stability."

"It all started with one backpack, and continues with a community ensuring that no neighbor goes without the essentials to survive and the confidence to move forward," the organization said.
Requested supplies are deodorant, sunscreen, chapstick, sunglasses, bug spray, water bottles, cooling towels, hats, aloe vera, and small automatic fans.
Donors can also purchase items through the program's Amazon wish list and have them shipped directly to the organization. People can also email volunteer@lifebridgenorthshore.org to schedule another drop-off time.
