Boston-Based Restaurant Group Owes Nearly $400K In Unpaid Taxes: Reports
The restaurant group was hit with a federal tax lien, according to media reports.
BOSTON, MA — A Boston-based restaurant group was hit with a federal tax lien, according to media reports.
"The Briar Group LLC, a Boston-based restaurant group with 10 bars and eateries in Greater Boston, has received a federal tax lien notice from the Internal Revenue Service indicating it owes nearly $400,000 in unpaid taxes," a Boston Business Journal story said.

The Briar Group, "one of Boston's leading and longest standing independently owned restaurant groups for over 25 years," owns such establishments as Ned Devine's, Glass House, Broken Records and Hurricane's at the Garden, according to its website.
"The notice, dated April 21, was filed in the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds," NBC reported.

"According to the notice, the Briar Group has $393,146.49 in unpaid taxes, including interest and penalties," per the NBC story. "The notice indicates that the IRS has 'made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid.'"
