Massive 6-Alarm Fire Burning In Boston Neighborhood

BOSTON, MA — Firefighters are battling a six-alarm fire at a two-story commercial building in Roxbury's Nubian Square Monday morning, according to the Boston Fire Department.

Crews responded to the fire at 72 Warren St. at approximately 7:30 a.m. The fire quickly escalated through multiple alarms as firefighters worked to contain the blaze inside the landmark building near the intersection of Warren, Dudley, and Harrison streets.

Firefighters are currently working on the blaze entirely from the exterior of the building, with engines surrounding the block and supplying water to multiple ladder trucks. Crews are pulling water from as far away as Moreland Street, approximately two blocks from the fire, as they continue pouring water onto the building.

Thousands of feet of feeder hose are stretched throughout the surrounding area, blocking several side streets. Residents and drivers are being asked to avoid the Nubian Square area while firefighters continue working at the scene.

The building sits across from the Roxbury branch of the Boston Public Library and near Roxbury Municipal Court. No injuries have been reported yet.
